BALTIMORE — It might be hard to believe, but winter will be here before you know it and BWI Airport is ready to handle the weather and get you to your destination safely.

On Tuesday, they showed off their winter weather operations and snow removal preparations. There are about 140 employees ready to clear the runways and taxiways and about 60 specialized vehicles to remove snow.

"The great thing about this airport is we prepare very well for the winter season," Chief Operating Officer, Wayne Pennell said. "Understand the challenges that we have coming forward, we perform a lot of training on an annual basis, both on the equipment and on the airfield itself."
