BALTIMORE — After coming off another violent year in Baltimore, City Council President and mayoral candidate Brandon Scott presented his public safety plan Thursday.

It’s called an ambitious holistic public safety vision. It focuses on protecting communities, focusing law enforcement resources on guns and criminals, and addressing violence as a public crisis.

"We have to involve all city agencies and leverage all city resources to end gun violence. That means addressing the trauma that has built up in our neighborhoods, saving the lives of those losing to overdose by implementing a harm reduction approach, promoting housing stability and supporting those residents that return to the community from prison who are in need of support," said City Council President Brandon Scott.

The plan also outlines how the city can support the youth and young adults through increasing school funding establishing a year-round Youthworks program and conflict mediation programs among other things.
