BALTIMORE (WMAR) — A Baltimore City Police Station is temporarily closed, after an employee reported feeling ill on Thursday.

Officials say the Central District station located in the 500 block of E. Baltimore Street was closed "to ensure there were no environmental hazards that contributed to the incident".

Staff from the Department of General Services have determined the issue stemmed from a crack in a sewage vent pipe, inside of the police station.

For now officers assigned to the Central District have been relocated next door to police headquarters. There has been no disruption to police services as result.

The Department of General Services has been notified of the incident, and will help determine when the station reopens.
