BGE and Johns Hopkins have announced a partnership to try and pump $69 million into the Baltimore economy.
Twenty-six local businesses are part of the BLocal effort, which targets spending on construction contracts with local businesses.
This will in turn create new jobs for people in the area.
This initiative comes almost one year after the riots, and is an effort to improve some of the poorer neighborhoods in the city.
