The Bea Gaddy Family Center is raising $8,000 to keep their east Baltimore facility open.

The building was scheduled to be auctioned off Tuesday, but attorneys say the non-profit can continue business if it can raise the money.

Until further notice, the Bea Gaddy Center will hold its annual Thanksgiving dinner. The Center has been serving turkey dinners to needy families in Baltimore for decades.

Bea Gaddy passed away in 2001.

Her daughter, Cynthia Brooks, now runs the organization.
