One Baltimore school is in need of basic supplies to help some of its youngest students.

Deadon Davon Carter of St. John's Full Gospel Baptist Church told WMAR-2 News that he's been collecting for Lakewood Elementary School for the last two years.

This year donations have been down.

The pantry that holds food and personal hygiene supplies for Pre-K and Kindergartners is dwindling.

Carter says when he heard the latest need of one of the students he was devastated.

"When a young man gets excited because he gets one pair of clean socks, I know there's another kid behind closed doors that's feeling the same pressures and depression he feels," said Davon Carter, Deacon.

If you would like to help, the school needs wipes, diapers, pull-ups, clothes, food and personal hygiene items.

Lakewood Elementary School will accept donations during normal school hours.
