The Baltimore Police Department has named a new Deputy Commissioner.
Friday, newly sworn Commissioner Darryl De Sousa announced the appointment of Gary Tuggle.
Officials say Tuggle began his 30 plus year law enforcement career with the Baltimore Police Department before joining the DEA in 1992.
The appointment of Tuggle comes weeks after the Baltimore Police Department and previously named Deputy Commissioner Thomas Cassella mutually agreed to not move forward with the latter's nomination.
Tuggle will oversee the Strategic Investigations and Support Services Bureau in his new role beginning in April.
