They residents of McElderry gathered Saturday afternoon to celebrate being homicide free for an entire year.
Organizers of this celebration said this accomplishment was a the entire community worked toward. They called this powerful movement “Peace in Our Hood”.
To celebrate the victory community leaders invited community partners, residents and youth to a party in the park.
There was free food, drinks and a live performance from a local band.
