Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake announced the Green Network Plan, a strategy to “reimagine vacant lots and abandoned buildings as new recreation destinations throughout the City.”

The plan, announced Wednesday during a press conference following the weekly meeting of the Board of Estimates, aims to “provide a blueprint” to transform challenged neighborhoods in the city in order to improve the quality of life for residents."

The plan calls for replacing “concentrations of blight” with a range of green spaces, like parks, gardens, greenway trails, forest patches and storm water areas.
