The Griots' Circle of Maryland, Inc. sponsored a storytelling event to celebrate Women's History Month Sunday.
TheBaltimore Griots' Circle hosted "The Mothers of the Movement" in The Orangery at The Hampton National Historic Site to honor women like Maya Angelo and Zora Neale Hurston.
The circle's president Kay Merrill said she wanted to make sure the program reached different types of people across the state.
According to the group's website, their goal is to educate and enrich the storytelling knowledge and abilities of the members and the community.
