Parking in Baltimore is about to get a bit easier.
The parking authority of Baltimore City is testing out a virtual parking permit system.
The system allows people in Residential Permit Parking areas to sign up and register for parking on line. Your license plate becomes your parking credential.
Instead of having workers walking down the sidewalk checking windshields for valid stickers, they would drive around in a van equipped with a license plate reader. If you are up to date on all registration you are good. But if the car's plate isn't registered the enforcement agent can come back and issue a ticket.
Visitors can also register their plates through this system.
