Baltimore is celebrating the life of Helen Delich Bentley, former Maryland congresswoman and WMAR employee.

Alex Cooper Auctioneers are hosting an auction of Bentley's collection of Asian antiques and art pieces.

The first of several planned auctions begins at 10 a.m. on Thursday. The auction is happening at Alex Cooper Auctioneers, located at 908 York Road in Towson.

On Friday, a public memorial set up by the Maryland Port Administration will honor Bentley's life at Fort McHenry. She was a longtime advocate for the Port of Baltimore.
