BALTIMORE — Baltimore City Firefighters conducted a successful and adorable rescue operation at Johns Hopkins’ Keswick facility Friday.

The fire department responded to help save eight ducklings that had separated from their mother by falling down a storm drain. Firefighters removed the heavy storm grate, went into the open sewer, and collected ducklings in a bucket.

Once they were back at street level, the ducklings were walked a few paces from the storm grate and reunited with their mother, who was anxiously waiting a short distance away.
