BALTIMORE, Md. — Maryland State Police are investigating a deadly crash after two cars collided on I-95 South Monday night in Harford County.

According to Maryland State Police, the crash happened around 5 p.m. on I-95 in Joppatowne. An investigation indicates a Toyota, driven by Brian Matthew Connors, rear-ended a Jeep, driven by Pamela Anne Flanagan.

As a result of the crash, both cars overturned on the right shoulder of the road. Flanagan had to be extricated from her Jeep, and Connors was ejected through his sun roof and died on the scene. Flanagan was taken to Shock Trauma to treat her injuries.

A preliminary investigation by the Maryland State Police says alcohol was a suspected factor in Connors' driving ability.

After being closed for over four hours, lanes on I-95 South past Exit 74 were reopened. The incident remains under investigation.
