BALTIMORE — They work to help keep our neighborhoods clean and on Tuesday, there was a show of appreciation for those working at the Department of Public Works.
Councilmembers Zeke Cohen and Yitzy Schleifer held a special event at a recycling center on Bowley’s Lane.
Sanitation workers were treated to pizza and drinks.
"We just feel like we need to show up for them. That's the bottom line. Look, they've gotten sick for us. One of them died after working on the back of a truck for us. We owe it to them to show up. "
Cohen said the fight will continue for sanitation workers until they get the bonus and raise that they deserve.
