Amtrak train strikes, kills pedestrian near Bowie State Station

BALTIMORE — A pedestrian has died after being struck by an Amtrak train on Monday evening.

MTA says the person was walking on the tracks south of the Bowie State Station.

MARC Penn Line Train 452 and 453 service en route to Washington D.C.was delayed for several hours while police were investigating.

Police have closed the railroad and officials encourage passengers waiting for the trains to seek alternate means of transportation.
