BALTIMORE — It was a chance to get important documents shredded for free.
On Sunday, Baltimore City Department of Public Works held a shred event in celebration of America Recycles Day.
Residents dropped off up to 2 large bags of paper at the Pimlico Training Center on Northern Parkway.
Councilman Yitzy Schleifer said the city needs more opportunities for recycling.
"We use to have two day trash curbside collection by suspending one of the days you have a lot of people putting it in with their trash, programs and events like this help educate our youth and communities on doing that."
DPW also passed out free trees and mulch to anyone wanting to add some greenery to their home.
