Amazon Key service launches in Baltimore Wednesday

It's billed as a way to foil package thieves - now Amazon Key is going live.

The service launches November 8 in 37 cities, including Baltimore. With Amazon Key, rather than leave the package on your doorstep, the driver delivers it inside your home.

To take part you have to be an Amazon Prime member, and you need to buy and install a special key and indoor security camera. The starter kit costs around $250.

Not everyone likes the idea of giving a stranger access to their home. Amazon says it screens all of its drivers - but if you don't like the idea, they also have Amazon Lockers.
