The greater Baltimore-Washington area is expected to reach Code Orange air quality level on Saturday, which means that pollution will be at an unhealthy level for sensitive groups.

Residents are advised to limit outdoor physical activity. Air pollution at a Code Orange level can be harmful to children, senior adults, athletes and anyone with a respiratory or heart condition.

To reduce air pollution and help the environment, Clean Air partners encourages residents to do the following things:

  • Limit driving by car
  • Vanpooling or taking public transportation
  • Refueling cars in the evening
  • Combining errands
  • Telecommute
