Officials confirmed 55 vehicles were involved in an early Saturday morning crash on I-95 in the area of Caton Avenue.
As of Saturday evening, 23 patients involved in the crash were being treated by University of Maryland Medical Center.
Of those patients, 16 were being treated in the emergency department for injuries including broken bones, cuts, bruises and lacerations. Seven patients were being treated at Shock Trauma, four patients were in critical condition, two in serious condition and one in fair condition.
