Two police officers were suspended from the Baltimore City Police Department following the federal indictment of seven other officers.
Police spokesperson T.J. Smith confirmed that two unidentified officers were suspended on the same day the indictment was announced earlier this month.
Smith told ABC2 that the officers are not, and won't be, criminally charged.
Seven officers were indicted on charges of committing robberies, extortion, filing fake police reports and overtime fraud.
Since the indictment, 10 cases charged by the involved officers have been dismissed.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
