Two Baltimore Police officers are under investigation after the arrest of an 18-year-old Saturday night, which police later determined was unwarranted.
A police officer and police lieutenant are being investigated internally, Baltimore Police said.
The incident happened Saturday around 7:15 p.m. near the 1800 block of Barclay Street. The lieutenant was patrolling the area in response to complaints of possible drug activity inside a house.
A video, which was recorded by another teen, shows Tionne Jones telling the lieutenant who's asking to speak to the owner to leave, noting he doesn't have a warrant.
The video then shows an officer pull Jones down the stairs and wrestle him to the ground. The lieutenant called for additional officers to respond.
Jones was arrested for alleged disorderly conduct and charged on a criminal citation. Police said the department’s executive team decided the arrest was inappropriate and asked the Baltimore State’s Attorney’s Office to drop the charges.
