A fatal fire in the unit block of South Mount Olivet Lane left one man dead and a family displaced Friday night.
When units arrived on the scene, they found heavy smoke on the second floor and fire in the rear of the location. Units were able to make entry and the fire was extinguished in approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
Officials confirmed that there was an individual on the second floor. He was pronounced dead on the scene. He was described as an adult male in his 60s.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
