Two homes in Anne Arundel County were damaged due to high winds Sunday morning.
Anne Arundel Fire Department spokesman Capt. Russ Davies said a large tree fell on a two-story house in Pasadena.
Fire crews responded to the house in the 8300 block of Capel Drive around 6:45 a.m.
When they arrived witnesses told them a woman was trapped in a bedroom on the partially collapsed second floor. Firefighters rescued her with no injuries.
Earlier, firefighters responded to a wind-related fire in Severn.
Around 6:30 Sunday morning fire crews were called to the 1700 block of Green Meadow Court for a report of a fire.
Authorities said the fire in the rear of a townhome was put out in about 10 minutes and caused $11,000 worth of damage. There were no injuries.
Davies said the cause of the fire was embers blown from an improperly extinguished fire pit into mulch near the home.
