ARNOLD, Md. — Firefighters battled for 40 minutes a two-alarm blaze in Arnold Tuesday night, the Anne Arundel Fire Department said.

The fire department received multiple calls about a house fire coming from the end unit of an attached home in the 500 block of Martingale Lane, in the town's Mooring on the Magothy community, at around 7 p.m. Arriving firefighters saw flames coming from the home’s deck, roof, and attic. The home’s occupants were not there at the time of the fire. No one was injured.

Two adjoining units sustained smoke and water damage as the 31 firefighters who initially responded worked to get the blaze under control. Fire personnel said the home did not have working smoke alarms nor a residential sprinkler system. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
