Ten people were displaced after an apartment fire in Glen Burnie Friday morning, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said.
There were no working smoke alarms, according to a release from the department.
The fire began around 6 a.m. at the building in the 1000 block of Dorsey Road. Firefighters said people who lived there woke up after having trouble breathing because of the smoke.
A 21-year-old woman dropped her four-year-old child from a second-story window to another family member, before she jumped from the window herself. The mother and her child went to Harbor Hospital, where she was treated for smoke exposure and a leg injury and her child was treated for smoke exposure.
Damage is estimated at $300,000.
