ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAR) — One bicyclist is dead and two others are injured following a Sunday crash in Annapolis.

It happened just after 12:30 p.m. along East College Parkway near Bay Head Road.

Anne Arundel County Police say a GMC Yukon was headed east as the group of bicycles were headed west.

For some reason, the GMC crossed the center line and collided with the group.

One bicyclist, identified as 59-year-old Arthur Herbert Carter Jr. died at the scene.

Another bicyclist, identified as Jeffrey Michael Adler, 58, sustained life threatening injuries. A third, suffered only minor injuries.

The driver remained on scene. Right now police don't think speed or alcohol played a factor, but that the driver most likely caused the crash by failing to remain in a single lane.
