Pedestrian struck and killed in Glen Burnie crash

GLEN BURNIE, Md. — The Anne Arundel County Police Department are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash in Glen Burnie over the weekend.

According to the department, officers were called to the scene of the crash at Crain Highway and Crainmont Drive at 5:15 p.m. on September 21. Investigators determined that 47-year-old James Edward Parsons III was struck by a 2013 Honda Civic traveling northbound on Crain Highway at Crainmont Drive.

Parsons was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver, identified as 25-year-old Demarcus Terell Roberts was not injured and remained on scene. Police said t is unknown if alcohol or drugs was a factor in this crash.

The Traffic Safety Section is handing the crash investigation. Anyone who witnessed this crash or has further information is asked to contact the Traffic Safety Unit at 410-222-8573.
