A 20-year-old man was killed Monday afternoon in a single car crash on Route 50 in Anne Arundel County, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
The accident occurred in the area of Rutland Road at approximately 11:55 a.m. Responding troopers located a white Toyota Corolla which had left the roadway and overturned. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Route 50 when it drifted from the roadway off the right shoulder. The vehicle then went up a hill and collided with several trees which caused it to overturn and come to rest against a fence.
State Highway Administration said all lanes reopened around 2:45 p.m.
