SEVERN, Md. — A motorcyclist is dead after colliding with an oncoming truck Friday afternoon in Severn.
Anne Arundel County Police say it happened just after 2:30 p.m. on Dicus Mill Road, east of Burns Crossing Road.
Investigators believe Andres Ricardo Porras, 42, was riding a Yamaha motorcycle west on Dicus Mill Road when he lost control, and crossed over into the eastbound lane, in the way of an oncoming truck.
Paramedics pronounced Porras dead on scene. The truck driver, Joseph Edward Freeman, 45, was not injured.
Police say the primary cause of the crash is attributed to Porras failing to remain right of center. They're still investigating whether alcohol, drugs, or speed played a factor.
