MILLERSVILLE, Md. — A man was fatally struck on eastbound I-695 when he tried to retrieve an appliance that fell from his car and into the highway, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said.
Emergency services responded to the call of a man in his 50s being struck on I-695 East near Ritchie Highway at about 12:38 p.m. Friday, the Fire Department said. The man was declared dead at the scene.
Witnesses told responders the man was struck by an SUV as he attempted to remove an appliance that had fallen from his truck and into the road way.
