A man is dead after he was hit by the side view mirror of a Penske truck on 295 Thursday morning.
Officers say High Anthony Clarke, 44, was driving southbound on MD 295, just north of I-95, when he swerved off the road and hit a cable barrier in the median.
Soon after crashing, Clarke exited his car and was walking in the left lane of the road when he was hit by the Penske truck. The driver of the truck, Walter John Riehl Jr. stayed at the scene.
Investigating officers say Riehl tried to swerve out of the way of Clarke, but he still accidentally clipped Clarke with his passenger side mirror.
Clarke was taken by ambulance to Shock Trauma where he later died.
Drugs, alcohol, and speeding are not considered to be factors in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
