A man was arrested at BWI airport with a loaded gun in his carry-on bag.
The man from Syracuse, NY had a .38 caliber gun loaded with one bullet. It was detected by a Transportation Security Administration officer when the bag went through the x-ray monitor.
The gun was confiscated and the man was arrested on weapons charges. The man said he forgot he was carrying his loaded "38 Special."
This is the second gun confiscated by TSA officers at BWI in the last week. A man from Baltimore was arrested December 13 with a loaded semi-automatic handgun in his bag.
So far this year, 24 firearms have been detected by TSA officers at BWI. That number ties the record set last year. Since 2013, the number of firearms confiscated at BWI has nearly doubled.
