Human remains washed ashore in Shady Side on Sunday more than a week after a woman's body was found in the same area.
Anne Arundel County police were called to the 5300 block of Chesapeake Avenue around 2:10 p.m. for skeletal remains that washed up on the shore. The gender, age and race of the remains is not known at this time. An autopsy by the medical examiner will determine the identity of the person and cause of death.
Investigators believe the remains were in the water for a long period of time and could be related to the remains found in the same area on Oct. 18.
