Fort Meade receives $4.3 million federal grant

Posted

Fort Meade has received money from the federal government to help military members find jobs as they transition out of service.

It will even help their spouses find work.

Anne Arundel County Executive Steve Schuh wants to  keep those military employees in his county.

"..but nowhere is the workforce development cooperation mission more important than when it comes to our veterans to making sure that those who have fought for our country have jobs. No one who has fought for our freedom, for this nations freedom, should have trouble have finding employment after his or her mission is complete," Schuh said.

The money will also benefit service members at Joint Base Andrews, Naval Air Station Patuxent River and Aberdeen Proving Ground.
