A firefighter was injured and a family has lost their home after a fire broke out in a Glen Burnie home late Monday. The Anne Arundel Fire Department says crews were called to the home in the 100 block of Whip Lane in Country Club Estates around 10 p.m.

Fire was visible from both the front window and the back of the home. 35-firefighters were able to get the fire under control in a half hour.

The Red Cross is helping the two adults and one child who were displaced. One firefighter sustained a minor injury; he was taken to an area hospital for treatment and released.

The Anne Arundel County Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit is investigating the cause; damages were estimated at $100,000.
