GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) - Maryland State Police have charged a man with vehicular manslaughter after a crash in Glen Burnie that killed another driver.

The agency said in a news release that troopers served an arrest warrant Monday on 31-year-old Johnathan Simms of Baltimore. Police say Simms is in custody at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where he is being treated for injuries he suffered in the crash.

Police say Friday afternoon, a trooper saw a car speeding on Route 100 in Glen Burnie. Authorities say the trooper attempted to make a traffic stop, but Simms sped off.

State Police say Simms crashed into a car driven by 66-year-old Louise Donner of Linthicum, killing her.

Troopers say when Simms is released from the hospital, he will be held on $1 million bond.
