Deputies say they were called to a home on Thompson Avenue in Severn to locate a suspect on outstanding warrants.
While inside the home, a deputy was bit in the calf by a dog. With the help of a resident, the deputy was able to free himself from the dog’s grasp.
The deputy suffered puncture wounds and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The dog was placed on a 10-day quarantine by Animal Control officers.
The suspect was not found at the residence.
