ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. — At around 10:15 a.m. on Thursday an officer with MDTA Police located a reported stolen vehicle on westbound U.S. 50 in the area of Cape St. Claire Road.

Before the officer could attempt to stop the vehicle, the driver exited onto Cape St. Claire Road and fled at a high rate of speed.

The officer took the exit, but was not able to located the driver's direction of travel. They then began canvassing the area and located a crash involving an overturned vehicle in the shopping center in the 1300 block of Cape St. Claire.

Officials say the officer called for a medic and attempted to render aid at the scene, but all vehicles were unoccupied.

The officer identified the overturned vehicle as the reported stolen vehicle. The overturned vehicle had crashed into a parked passenger vehicle and pushed that vehicle into another parked passenger vehicle.

The driver of the stolen vehicle was not located.
