Instead of your typical grand business opening, the owner of the new Chick-fil-A in Linthicum Heights planned a special trip for more than 60 customers.

Franchise owner Billy McGrath hosted Chick-fil-A's First 100 interactive Grand Opening Road Trip Wednesday.

The group traveled around the Baltimore area on charter buses to engage in team building and community service.

More than 10,000 meals and boxed lunches were put together and delivered to the Maryland Food Bank. The group also picked up some books, wrote a special message in them and delivered the books to Linthicum Elementary School.

The new Chick-fil-A at Elkridge Landing located on West Nursey Rd. will officially hold a grand opening Thursday, March 2.
