ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Aerial acrobatics may contribute to some traffic and parking troubles in Annapolis this week as the Blue Angels drill in the skies about the state capital.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, May 21 and 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Naval Academy Bridge will be closed, and significant delays are schedule for MD-450 and MD-648 south of US-50, as the planes participate in demonstrations for Naval Academy Commencement.

Access to Pendennis Mount, Greenbury Point, and Naval Support Activity will be limited. Traffic on southbound MD-450 will be detoured to the northbound lanes at the World War II Memorial during this closure, and southbound traffic on MD-648 will be detoured to Greenbury Point Road, with no access to MD-450. Anne Arundel County Police will maintain a presence on the roads to help direct traffic.

Drivers should plan on encountering heavy delays in the area. All parking restrictions, including parking in the roadway, will be enforced.
