Students in one local county school system can now check out books from the library without risk of a fine.
Anne Arundel County Public Schools have partnered with the Anne Arundel County Public Library to provide all 81,000 students with virtual library accounts.
The school system and library made the announcement at Park Elementary School Thursday.
The new program gives them fine-free access to materials at all library branches and to online resources.
Officials are calling the Student Access to Improved Learning (SAIL) partnership one of the first of its kind.
