Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman announced the county's first comprehensive transportation plan to address traffic congestion and transit infrastructure.
The plan will look into ways to make it easier to get around by car, bike or bus.
"We do want to increase public transit in this county. We want to get more bus lines going," said Pittman. "We've got the B&A trail that goes right by here. We need to make sure we’ve got ways for people on their bikes to get across Ritchie Highway so they can get to their neighborhoods on the other side. There’s a whole lot to it."
The plan will be presented to the County Council in 45 days, and they will have their own open hearings about the proposal.
