Music to help the community heal on Friday evening in Annapolis.

A concert at Maryland Hall's Main Theater to honor the five people killed in the Capital Gazette shooting. The song they dedicated to them was the 14th song on their line up and it was titled "Rise Up!" A tribute was written for the five that lost their lives.

Mike Lange from the group Eastport Oyster Boys penned the song.

Margaret Davis who is the President of Marland Hall talked about why this concert was so important.

"The music is just such a perfect way for us to mourn, to heal, to be inspired, even to laugh.  To illuminate, that's one of the reasons that we added the illumination of our labyrinth.  We want to have light help us come out of this darkness."

The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra strings joined the Eastport Oyster Boys on stage for several songs.
