92-year-old man killed in Pasadena house fire identified

The man killed in a Pasadena house fire is identified as 92-year-old, Guy Ringler.

The fire happened on March 10 in the 4400 block of Forsythia Lane. Neighbors saw the fire and called 911. When firefighters arrived they rescued a man in his 50s from the kitchen.

He was in cardiac arrest and paramedics needed to resuscitate him. He is hospitalized with critical, life-threatening injuries.

Ringler was found in the living room and declared dead on the scene.

The fire was accidental and investigators say it was likely caused by smoking materials. Firefighters also determined the home had no working smoke alarms. 

Damage to the home was estimated at $80,000.
