ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The 28th Annual Maryland Wine Governor's Cup Awards were held at the Red Wine Bar in Annapolis.

First Lady Yumi Hogan was there as the event recognized the best in Maryland's booming wine industry.

"We're to the point now that we have over 900 acres of very high quality grapes grown throughout the state. We've got 95 wineries located in every corner of the state and just we've in the last year been have reached international acclaim so, we are proud to say that a couple of our wineries have earned 90 plus scores in an international review publication which is big news for a wine industry," said Kevin Atticks, Maryland Wineries Association.

The best in show winner Port of Leonardtown Winery received the 2018 Maryland's Governors Cup along with the Great Shoals Winery for their hard strawberry fruit wine.
