ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAR) — Four people including a 2-year-old suffered critical injuries following a two car crash Saturday in Annapolis.

It happened just before 1:45 p.m. in the area of Route 665 West and the Route 50 East ramp.

One of the cars overturned, with the 2-year-old in the back seat. Luckily bystanders rescued the child before crews arrived. The child was taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Pediatrics with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.

Anne Arundel County Fire officials say the driver of the overturned car and two other people inside the second vehicle were trapped for about 30-minutes before they could be rescued.

Both occupants of the second car, a 30-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were flown by helicopter to Shock Trauma with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the overturned car also suffered life threatening injuries, but was taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Hospital.

It's unclear what caused the crash or who was at fault.
