Independence Day 2019: Where you can celebrate across the state

Fourth of July is on Thursday, and if you're looking for a place to celebrate this week, we've got you covered! Take a look below for all of the best events!

July 3rd Celebrations

The Suburban Club

Woodholme Country Club

Independence Day Extravaganza (SOLD OUT)

Oregon Ridge Park
13401 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville
6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Gates open at 5 p.m., Lutherville Music School performs from 6 to 7 p.m. and Baltimore Symphony musicians will perform at 8 p.m.

July 3rd Independence Day Concert

This free event takes place at Avalon Park at the corner of Louisa Lane and Water Streets in Charlestown, Maryland. There will be a pre-fireworks concert featuring Elvis and The Big Bopper impersonators.

The concert starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. as the Salute to Veterans fireworks display goes off across the river in North East. There is free parking and snacks and drinks available to purchase.

Cecil County's Veterans Celebration

This event runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the North East Town Park in North East. The official ceremony begins at 8 p.m., and includes the Flag Raising, Pledge of Allegiance, Salute to the Veterans, all along with local community leaders and Veterans Leaders making presentations.

Glen Burnie Annual Fireworks Show at Sawmill Creek Park:
301 Dorsey Rd., Glen Burnie, Maryland 21061
The event opens at 7 p.m. with fireworks starting after sunset, approximately 9 pm.

Independence Day

Anne Arundel County:

Annapolis 4th of July Parade:
The parade will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., with marching bands, fire engines, cars and vans, service clubs and scouts at Amos Garrett and West Street. The parade will then head down West Street, Church Circle and down Main Street.

4th of July Fireworks in Historic Annapolis

Annapolis launches its fireworks from a barge in Annapolis Harbor.

The best viewing areas include public spaces Northeast of the Severn River, City Dock, along the Naval Academy Bridge (limited parking area), any of the street-end parks facing Spa Creek, and aboard a boat in the Annapolis harbor.

The Spa Creek Bridge will be closed to traffic from Eastport into Annapolis beginning at 6 p.m. The bridge will remain closed until the conclusion of the fireworks, at approximately 10 p.m.

Baltimore City:

Ports America Chesapeake 4th of July Celebration:

This Independence Day celebration will begin at 7 p.m. with the U.S. Navy Jazz Band Commodores performing at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater at Pratt and Light Streets! Fireworks will kick off at 9:30 p.m. with an 18 minute display shining over downtown Baltimore.

Baltimore County:

Catonsville Annual Grande Parade
Begins at 3 p.m. and starts at Frederick Road and Montrose Avenue, proceeds east on Frederick Road to Bloomsbury Avenue, south on Bloomsbury Avenue to the Community Center.

85th Annual Dundalk 4th Of July Parade
Begins approxiatemtly at 8:15 a.m. and starts north on Dundalk Avenue, East on Belclare Road, North on Liberty Parkway, West on Dunglow, West on Dunmanway, North on Shipping Place, East on Shipway, North on Admiral Boulevard, South on Liberty Parkway, end at Dunmanway.

Harford County:

Bel Air July 4th Parade
Begins at 6 p.m. and will start at the intersection of IDLEWILD and S. Main and procced to the intersection of E. Gordon Street and North Main Street, at the "Welcome to Bel Air" sign.
Rain date: Parade will not be rescheduled. Cancellation information is announced on our Facebook page, and broadcast on WXCY-FM 103.7 and WAMD-AM 970.

Bel Air Fireworks Display
Time: 9:30 p.m.
Location: Rockfield Park
Rain date: If the fireworks are canceled for any reason, they will not be rescheduled.

Carroll County:

Fourth of July Celebration at the Carroll County Farm Museum
This Independence Day extravaganza will have food, fireworks and more! Gates open at 3 p.m. with general admission in effect until 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., a $5 donation per car is collected.


Cecil County:

July 4 at Meadow Park
Gates open at this Elkton event at 5 p.m. for food, music and fun! Fireworks start at 9 p.m. and can be seen from several locations in town including the Howard Street Parking lot!


Charles County

Annual 4th of July Celebration & Fireworks
Village Green Park & Pavilion
3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

July 4th Celebration at the Charles County Fairgrounds
Charles County Fairgrounds, 8440 Fairgrounds Road, La Plata

There will be live music from local bands, various local food vendors with items available for purchase, and of course the musical fireworks display. Admission is free!

Dorchester:

Fireworks in Cambridge
The Cambridge, Maryland, fireworks show over the Choptank River are scheduled for Thursday, July 4 at dusk.

Best viewing spots?
Great Marsh Park, near Somerset Avenue and Hambrooks Boulevard
Long Wharf Park, near High and Water Streets

Frederick County:

Frederick's 4th: An Independence Day Celebration in Frederick

This free event kicks off at noon on Thursday and features two stages of entertainment, food, rides, activities and fireworks! Parking will also be free on July 4 and 5.

Howard County:

Howard County's July 4th Fireworks
Columbia Lakefront
(10275 Wincopin Circle, Columbia, MD 21044)

Parking is free at this July 4th celebration! The event runs from 5 p.m. till 10 p.m. with fireworks starting once the sun sets!

Note: Those wishing to place a blanket or sheet may do so beginning at 8 a.m. on July 4. Those wishing to place a tarp on the grass may do so beginning at 3 p.m. Placement of tarps and chairs must wait until 3 p.m. in order to protect the grass.

20th Annual Village of River Hill Independence Day Parade
River Hill Community Association
(6020 Daybreak Circle, Clarksville, MD 21029)

The parade will be held on Thursday, July 4 at 9:00 a.m. along Great Star Drive in the Village of River Hill.

Montgomery County:

Germantown Glory at South Germantown Recreational Park, located at 18041 Central Park Circle in Germantown (Boyds)

Kicks off at 7 p.m. with a concert by Quiet Fire, a soul, rhythm and blues and rock band that covers hits from the 1960s, '70s and '80s. Follow the directional signs for free on-site parking.

Mid-County Sparkles at Albert Einstein High School, located at 11135 Newport Road in Kensington.

Begins at 7:30 p.m. with a concert by Bobby & the Believers, a Motown and rock and roll cover band. The only parking available on-site at Einstein High School will be for individuals with disabilities. Free parking and shuttle service will be provided from Westfield Wheaton, which is located at 11160 Veirs Mill Road.

Parking at Westfield Wheaton will open at 6 p.m. Event goers who park at Westfield Wheaton prior to 6 p.m. Shuttle service will begin at 6:15 p.m.

Fireworks for both events will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.

Rockville's Independence Day Celebration
Celebrating its fifth year at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park in King Farm. This location offers wonderful spectator viewing, and ample and convenient parking.

The celebration runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Live music begins at 7 with the fireworks display starting at 9:15 p.m.

Prince Georges:

College Park Celebration:
A FREE concert and fireworks spectacular will take place at the University of Maryland Campus in Parking Lot 1 adjacent to Campus Drive. NightLife will entertain from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. followed by a 30 minute Fireworks Extravaganza at dusk!

Concessions begin at 5 p.m. with hamburgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes, ice cream and more! Grass seating is limited!

Talbot County:

Easton's Carnival & July 4 Celebration:

From 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. you can enjoy music, games, rides and food! It's an an all-ages concert that’s free and open to the public.

Washington County:

Fireworks at Fairgrounds Park 351 N. Cleveland Ave, Hagerstown
8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Food vendors will be on site at 8 p.m. and a fireworks display will take place at 9:30 p.m.

Worchester County:

Ocean City will be providing a free concert at 8 p.m. downtown on the beach at North Division Street and uptown at 125th Street at Northside Park. Both will end with a firework show at 9:30 p.m.

Weekend Celebrations

Friday, July 5

Cecil County, Independence Celebration and Fireworks

At this celebration you can enjoy an evening of food, music, and fireworks. Festivities begin at 5pm in the Pell Gardens with food and music. The fireworks kick off at 9 p.m.

Best viewing spot? Anywhere along the canal on either the north or south sides of town.

Wilson Point

Havre de Grace:

This event begins at 2 p.m. with a parade on Union Avenue, followed by two concerts at 7 p.m. culminating with fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Take a look below at the map of the event!

41st Independence Day Celebration
11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
8103 Sandy Spring Rd, Laurel
The parade for this event begins at 9 a.m. with vendors, music and fun starting around 5 p.m.! Fireworks kick off at dusk!

Somerset:

A Tribute to Our Heroes
Somers Cove Marina
5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This event, hosted by the American Legion is free for all and features food, live music, military appreciation and fireworks!

Gates open at 5 p.m. for the celebration, with the fireworks show starting at 9:15 p.m.
