Black Girls Vote Inc. and popular blogging site Tumblr are teaming up to get at least 2,018 people to vote.

Black Girls Vote is a grassroots and nonpartisan organization created to engage, educate, and empower women of color to fully engage in the political process.

BGV and Tumblr are working to create a social action experience to take voters from regional high schools, colleges, and universities to the polls.

Thursday the two organizations held a festive and celebratory march, led by the MSU Marching Band, from Morgan State University's campus to nearby polling stations

"We're here to say that black girls will vote, but also we're going to take our husbands, our boyfriends, our brothers, our sons with us to the polls because it’s so important that we get out to vote,” said Black Girls Vote Founder and CEO Nykidra Robinson.

The march was followed by a series of cafe takeovers at 15 different high school and college campuses in the area to empower and energize young voters to exercise their power at the polls.
