Maryland Zoo welcomes pair of KuneKune pigs

Two KuneKune (pronounced cooney cooney) pigs from New Zealand made their The Maryland Zoo debuts recently.
The pigs join sheep, alpacas, cows, chickens, and goats in the Farmyard area.
The pair of male pigs who go by the names Orville and Wilbur were born Feb. 23. While they are cute and small now, the zoo said they will grow to between 200 and 300 pounds.
The hairy pigs have short snouts and short legs. "Kunekune" means "fat and round" in Maori, an aboriginal language of New Zealand.
